A 'revolutionary' free scientific recruitment initiative has been launched under the new brand of naturejobs by science journal Nature
Naturejobs becomes the first job board specialising in scientific recruitment to offer free online postings in a move that is certain to cause waves within the industry, it claims.
Academic and industrial recruiters searching for talented scientists will now be able to post single job adverts online through naturejobs for free and take advantage of the 1.5 million page impressions and 200,000 unique users every month.
A wide range of additional paid online options are also unveiled that offer advertisers the opportunity to increase the visibility of their job adverts.
The new services include contextual advertising options that harness the power of nature.com and its 30 million page impressions per month.
"The launch of Naturejobs is a significant step in the evolution of science recruitment that capitalises on the power of our website and aligns our recruitment business with the shift towards online advertising that has been seen in other sectors.
"Scientists across the world have learned to place their trust in Nature as the source for high impact science and award winning journalism, and as a result we have one of the most highly visited scientific web sites.
"Naturejobs and our revolutionary free posting offer will build a large volume of high quality science jobs that will be attractive to both job seekers and recruiters" said Peter Collins, publishing director at Nature Publishing.
Nature is frequently referred to in the world's press as the most reliable source of up-to-date scientific information available.
Since its launch in 1950, more than 275 Nobel Prize winners have published over 1700 articles in the pages of Nature.
Naturejobs claims almost 1.5 million hits every month.
