Applied Kilovolts's LS range of precision high voltage power supplies provides an unprecedentedly low level of ripple.
At significantly below one part per million, ripple is even below the target aimed for by the company's design engineers.
"This level of ripple is so low that the challenge is even to measure it," said managing director Kevin Wheelhouse.
"It tests the limits of conventional voltage measurement techniques".
Models in the LS range provide power outputs of up to 1Watt, and are intended for mass spectrometers and similar applications, where an extremely low ripple and highly stable power supply are essential for achieving high resolution outputs.
The LS family extends from <1kV to 50kV, and builds on the Low Stress expertise created through the development of Applied Kilovolts's innovative HP range.
Throughout the family, temperature coefficients are <10ppm/C and drift is as low as 25ppm (0.0025%).
As well as powering mass spectrometers, Applied Kilovolts's modules are suitable for electron microscopes, photomultiplier tubes, microchannel plates, nuclear instruments and other applications that require a precision high voltage supply.
These include low power X-ray machines, which are increasingly used in the monitoring of fill levels in food packaging lines, as well as in medical diagnostics.
