Beckman Coulter has two new IOTest Anti-Rat flow cytometry reagents for lymphocyte phenotyping in preclinical immunotoxicology applications
These new conjugated monoclonal antibodies are three-colour combinations, providing more information with less sample than one- or two-colour offerings.
The two new products are Anti-Rat CD3-FITC / CD4-PC7 / CD8-APC, for T-Cell subpopulation phenotyping, and Anti-Rat CD3-FITC / CD45RA-PC7 / CD161a-APC, for T- / B- / NK-Cell population phenotyping.
They are standardised, easy to handle, validated and manufactured under cGMPs.
Immunotox studies, required in preclinical drug discovery, are usually done in animals.
The new IOTest reagents have been validated against a variety of rat biological sample types and the no-wash red blood cell lysing step streamlines sample preparation.
For further automation in high-volume applications, the reagents can be automated on Beckman Coulter's Biomek NXP Span-8 Workstation.
These new products may be easily augmented with other reagents such as 7-AAD Viability Dye for dead cell.
The IOTest Anti-Rat immunotox reagents work on Beckman Coulter and other manufacturers' flow cytometers with dual laser configuration.
"Two things set these new reagents apart from other offerings on the market," explained Michel Herbert, research reagents marketing manager for Beckman Coulter.
"The first is the automation capability and the second is the flexibility to get more results from the same sample by adding standardised, stand-alone markers to the combinations".
IOTest Anti-Rat immunotox reagents are provided in 50-test vials and are approved for research use only.
