New features, menus and extensions broaden and develop the level of statistical and data analysis tools that make GenStat the statistical software of choice for general and bioscience applications
Adept Scientific announces a brand new version of GenStat, the pioneering statistics software program from VSN International.
GenStat 10th edition offers new statistical functionality, improved graphical capabilities and compatibility with Excel 2007 and Windows Vista.
This latest release includes 11 new directives and 34 new procedures in an updated procedures library.
There are new statistical test, REML, repeated measures and survey analysis menus, and a number of graphing enhancements.
The new ability to create custom dialogues using GenStat's resource language makes it easy to automate repetitive analyses; while loading and viewing data from large spreadsheets is significantly faster in this new version as they can be opened as read-only.
GenStat was developed by statisticians at Rothamsted Experimental Station (now Rothamsted Research - the largest agricultural research centre in the UK and one of the oldest in the world).
GenStat's pedigree begins with the pioneering work at Rothamsted of Ronald Fisher in the 1930s and Frank Yates in the 1950s, meaning much of the statistics and analysis tools have been designed specifically for field trials and working with the complexities of agricultural data.
"GenStat 10th Edition cements its position as tool of choice for bioscientists the world over," says Roger Payne, chief technology officer at VSN International.
"This latest edition will be of interest to existing and new users across the wide biological science spectrum and is evidence of our commitment to ensure scientists have access to the best in statistical analysis".
GenStat 10 is available now from Adept Scientific.
