The Institute of Clinical Research (ICR) and the British Association of Research Quality Assurance (Barqa) are teaming up for a joint seminar focusing on the move to electronic data management
The seminar, entitled E-Source - Friend or Foe? A CRA's guide to overcoming the challenges of monitoring electronic data, will take place on Thursday 19 June 2008 at the ICR's headquarters in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire.
The seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the challenges faced by CRAs when monitoring electronic source data at site including practical solutions to resolving common problems and understanding how to monitor electronic and hybrid source data systems.
The day is aimed at both new and experienced CRAs who are looking to improve their knowledge on how to monitor electronic source data and what their responsibilities are in ensuring electronic systems at site meet current regulations.
ICR's chief executive, John Hooper, is confident the seminar will be of great interest to the ICR's members.
He said: "Our previous events with Barqa have been very popular with our members and with this event focusing on electronic data it should again attract a high number of delegates".
Several presentations will be held throughout the day by top industry speakers covering topics from What to do when a system does not meet expectations to How to handle hybrid systems of paper and electronic source data at the investigator site.
The ICR regularly holds joint seminars with sister membership organisations.
Earlier this year it held its inaugural joint seminar with the European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) and in November this year it will be running a seminar with SAG (Scientific Archivists Group).
