One of the largest environmental analysis organisations in the UK and Ireland has chosen the Aquakem analyser from Labmedics for its brand new, state-of-the-art laboratory in Hawarden, near Chester
Alcontrol Laboratories is a rapidly expanding European testing group with over 30 laboratories in the Netherlands, UK, Ireland and Sweden.
Incorporating the latest European technology the laboratories have been designed to process large volumes of samples efficiently and effectively, allowing the company to offer high quality, rapid sample analysis with the highest customer service levels.
The Aquakem analyser used at Alcontrol was specifically developed for the precise analysis of water and environmental samples.
It is available in three models.
The 200 achieves analytical rates of up to 180 tests per hour and the 250 up to 250 tests an hour.
Aquakem 600 runs up to 600 tests per hour and is suitable for the higher throughput laboratory.
Types of matrices analysed include clean water, wastewater and soil/sludge digests.
Nutrient analysis includes ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, TON, chloride and sulphate.
An added option is a cadmium reduction module for nitrate analysis.
The random access analysers have automatic start-up and shut down protocols for true and#145;walk away' analysis.
Offering the ultimate in performance Aquakem has been designed for minimum reagent consumption and low operating costs.
The unique low volume multicell cuvette provides true discrete analysis, virtually eliminating carryover.
Hazel Davidson of Alcontrol comments: "We chose Aquakem because of its proven track record.
"One of the major benefits of using the analyser is its high productivity - we are able to undertake 25,000 tests per month with Aquakem, including SO4, C1, PO4, NO2, NO3, sulphide, NH4 and Hex Cr."
