Brookfield Engineering has announced three courses, designed to provide users of its instruments with the hands-on knowledge to get the most out of viscosity and texture test methods.
The day-long training sessions are offered at Brookfield's facility in Middleboro, MA, and at major metropolitan areas across the US.
Arrangements can also be made to conduct the course at customers' facilities, where content can be adapted to their specific product applications.
The autumn and winter 2008 course schedule includes an applied course on viscosity test methods, a practical course on texture analysis and a practical course on viscosity measurements.
The viscosity test methods course is designed for the intermediate to advanced Brookfield Instrumentation user in research and development, analytical, and process engineering functions.
Focusing on test methods and techniques, it will discuss how Brookfield rotational viscometers and rheometers can be used to provide meaningful product analysis.
The course takes delegates beyond pass/fail criteria, to an understanding of how to apply viscometric data as a problem-solving and product performance/processing tool.
It runs on 17 October in Middleboro, MA, and 23 October in Atlanta, GA.
The texture analysis course provides attendees with the technical training they need to meet their method development and application needs.
Theoretical knowledge and hands-on exercises provide attendees with techniques, methods and industry know-how.
Principles of texture analysis, correlation to sensory perception, texture instrumentation and accessories, and an introduction to TexturePro software are all included.
Attendees will also receive a copy of Professor Malcolm Bourne's latest book, entitled 'Food Texture and Viscosity, Concept and Measurement'.
The course runs on 9 September and 4 November in Middleboro, MA.
The viscosity measurement course aims to provide attendees with the tools and concepts they need to make the most precise viscosity measurements possible.
The course is designed to benefit operators at all levels of experience.
Participants are encouraged to bring product samples for testing and hands-on time is provided in a relaxed laboratory environment.
This course runs on 18 September in Kansas City, MO, 16 October and 6 November in Middleboro, MA, 22 October in Atlanta, GA, 18 November in Salt Lake City, UT, and 20 November in San Francisco, CA.
