Researchers in the department of chemistry and pharmacy at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg have chosen the remote-controlled SC920 digital vacuum pump system to add to their KNF lab pump range.
The pump was originally put through its paces by students and research scientists in the department.
Dr Frank Hampel of the organic chemistry group said: 'KNF Lab asked us to trial the new remote-controlled SC920 vacuum pump.
'Our lab was ideal for rigorous testing, with constant exposure to corrosive solvents and some rough handling from students at all levels.
'The new vacuum mechanism is quieter and stronger than other pumps, while the controller touchscreen and remote control unit are easy for students to use.'
