CRAIC Technologies has launched the QDI 2010 UV microspectrophotometer, which can rapidly differentiate protein from salt crystals by both absorbance and fluorescence spectroscopy.
It can determine the concentration of protein in the crystal even if the crystal is contaminated, and qualify the crystal once it has been located and identified.
It can image and acquire microspectra from crystals as small as a micron, and operate in the visible and NIR regions as well as in ultraviolet.
The ability to use microspectra to qualify the crystal can save time by only selecting viable crystals for the next step of a procedure.
