Autumn 2008 will see the launch of a new generation of Vapodest rapid steam distillation units from C Gerhardt for the determination of ammonia in a wide variety of samples.
All the new units feature transparent protective doors to help observation during the distillation.
Other features include simplified control and programming: 10 programmes for the Vapodest 20S and Vapodest 30s, and up to 40 for the new Vapodest 45S.
Using the Operator button and PC, control of the automated titration model Vapodest 50s brings the range of equipment right up to date with modern electronics technology.
Each unit retains the controllable steam output and programmability and the standby feature ensures distillations are completed in three to four minutes even after long breaks.
Cooling water is only used when the system is distilling a sample and is automatically switched on and off when required.
Although principally designed for Kjeldahl-Nitrogen and ammonia distillations the Vapodest can also be used for other analytes such as alcohol, phenol or sulphur dioxide.
Demonstrations and applications are available on request.
