GRI has announced the launch of the GS482 thermal cycler from Gene Technologies designed for laboratories requiring a system for low to medium throughput PCR and multi-user functionality.
The GS482 thermal cycler comprises two independent 48-well peltier thermal blocks with sprung heated lids that adapt to 0.2ml tubes and strips and high-profile 48-well plates, which enables two programs to be run independently or simultaneously.
The GS482 has the ability to run gradient programs on both or either thermal blocks as a standard feature.
Users can enter a gradient step into their protocol, and the GS482 will generate a gradient over eight columns per block.
The GS482 uses Windows CE as its operating platform with a 3.5in full-colour touch screen to control the on-board, icon-driven software.
Users have the choice to enter programs manually or utilise the program wizard.
The program wizard function and in-built primer algorithms remove the requirement to manually calculate the ideal protocol for PCR experiments.
