Lloyd Instruments will be displaying a comprehensive range of materials testing machines at Interplastica, to be held in Moscow from 27 to 30 January 2009.
The display will include polymer testing equipment from the Davenport range and the latest Chatillon force testers, and will illustrate capabilities for testing plastics, rubber, polymers and other materials throughout the manufacturing cycle, from raw materials to plastic components and finished products.
On show from the Davenport range will be the PETPlus intrinsic viscosity measurement instrument and the MFI-10 melt flow indexer.
Chatillon products include the TCD225 Series digital force tester and the LTCM-100 Series motorised tester.
Also on display will be the '2 in 1' FTPlus friction tester and the twin-column 10 kN LR10KPlus, equipped with an EX800Plus long-travel extensometer and an STGA high-resolution strain gauge extensometer.
The PETPlus is designed for solvent-free measurement of the intrinsic viscosity of PET granules, PET bottles, pre-forms or reground material for recycling.
The PETPlus produces rapid, reliable and repeatable results using a test method that not only avoids the environmental hazard of handling and disposal of toxic solvents but also eliminates the costs of solvent purchase.
The Chatillon LTCM-100 Series motorised tester, combined with a Chatillon gauge, is suitable for applications requiring an economical solution to tensile or compression testing up to 500N.
A large working area, 130mm throat and long 750mm travel is suitable for tensile, compression, flexural, shear and peel testing.
The Chatillon TCD225 Series digital force tester (1kN ) is an advanced, stand-alone force testing system optimised for production, quality control and engineering applications.
The MFI-10 melt flow indexer is an intelligent modular system, which allows fully automatic measurement of the melt flow rate of a polymer.
It can be used by resin manufacturers and processors such as extruders and injection moulders to measure the melt flow rate and melt volume rate of thermoplastics before use in the manufacturing process.
The '2 in 1' FTPlus instrument can be used as a dedicated friction tester conforming to the requirements of the key ASTM D1894, ISO 8295 and TAPPI T549 friction testing standards or, when used with Nexygen Plus software and appropriate sample clamping fixtures, can be configured as a powerful universal testing machine to perform tensile, compression, flexural and other mechanical tests up to 1kN.
The FTPlus can be used for measurements of static and kinetic coefficients of friction, peak load and average load.
The LR10KPlus machine provides materials-testing capabilities at forces up to 10kN.
It will be fitted with an EX800Plus contacting extensometer for the accurate extension measurement of materials such as semi-rigid plastics, elastomers and rubbers, while the STGA high-resolution strain gauge extensometer is designed for use with a wide range of rigid materials.
