Thermo Fisher Scientific has released a new software version for the Nanodrop 8000 Spectrophotometer that can be downloaded for free from the Nanodrop website.
The Nanodrop 8000 instrument performs full spectrum UV/Vis analysis of up to eight 1ul samples in less than 20 seconds.
Version 2.0 incorporates features and upgrades including: user configurable software that allows scientists to create and save methods for routine use; easy importing of lists of pre-defined sample names, saving time and reducing potential transcription errors associated with manual entry; a units-selector tool that allows scientists to select preferred concentration units for samples, which is useful for downstream data manipulations; and an Oligo calculator.
The Nanodrop 8000 also features a measurement cycle of up to 96 measurements in six minutes.
The instrument's Sample Position Illuminator makes it simple to track samples to be measured.
The Nanodrop 8000 provides absorbance spectra and calculated concentrations for common biological samples.
Its sample retention technology eliminates the need for cuvettes and dilutions, allowing easy clean-up.
The Nanodrop 8000 is suitable for busy labs that have several users sharing equipment or that have high sample-throughput needs.
Thermo Fisher is marking the release of this software by offering North American customers buying a Nanodrop 8000 a free system laptop or one-year extended warranty.
