Proxeon has announced that it is to participate, as one of 12 partners, in a new research consortium entitled Prospects (Proteomics Specification in Time and Space).
The project will focus on development of new proteomics technologies to provide insights and a deeper understanding of the human proteome and its role in disease.
There will be a specific focus on functional proteomics and mass spectrometry.
Prospects collaborators come from proteomics laboratories and companies in the complementary fields of proteomics, structural and cell biology, cell imaging, bioinformatics and data-mining, and computational modelling of proteomic data.
The goal is to annotate quantitatively the human proteome with respect to protein localization and dynamics.
All data produced during the project will be available to the scientific community via annotated online public databases.
