Prizmatix has released a high-power LED light source for upright and inverted fluorescence microscopes.
This dual-LED light source is an alternative to Hg and xenon lamps in imaging applications.
It comprises two collimated high-power LEDs and a dichroic mirror combiner.
Unlike common lamps, light intensity can be controlled for each LED independently.
The LED driver supports stable continuous illumination with external triggering via TTL input.
Currently, the dual-microscope LEDs are available in the following wavelengths: 365nm, 385nm, 390nm, 395nm, 400nm, 405nm, 410nm, 415nm, 420nm, 425nm, 430nm, 435nm, 440nm, 445nm, 455nm, 460nm, 470nm, 480nm, 500nm, 515nm, 535nm, 540nm, 595nm, 630nm and white.
Any combination of two of these wavelengths can be supplied.
Each LED has separate control of power and offers a long life (no lamp replacement required).
Other features include narrow UV spectrum emission and no moving parts.
