Lec Medical has agreed a deal with Hoshizaki UK, a manufacturer of ice makers, to supply a range of ice dispensers and flake/nugget ice machines specifically designed for medical and laboratory use.
The ice dispensers are ideal for any situation where a number of people need access to an ongoing ice/water supply, particularly for drinks.
As well as being compact and energy efficient the dispensers use a hygienic method of producing, storing and dispensing ice that is ideal for any medical environment.
The ice moves directly to the storage hoppers as soon as it is produced so it has no contact with light or air until it is dispensed.
There are three ice maker models in the range, two of which have the facility to select, ice cubes, ice cubes and water or water.
The counter-top DCM60FE water and ice maker produces 60kg of ice in 24 hours, and stores up to 1.9kg.
The DCM120FE has the same compact size and features, but produces ice more than twice as fast for busier locations, at 125kg in 24 hours, storing up to 4kg at one time.
The floor-standing DIM30AE is for ice cubes only, produces 32kg of ice in 24 hours and has a much larger storage bin capacity at 15kg.
There also are six flake/nugget ice machines for a variety of cooling purposes.
The ice is compressed during production to give longer lasting cooling for the transportation and cooling of blood and organs.
Flake ice is also ideal for packing around limbs.
The flake/nugget ice machines come in two different dimensions with varying production and storage capacities, with the FM80EE producing 85kg of ice in 24 hours, and storing 26kg, and the larger FM120EE50 producing 125kg of ice in 24 hours and storing 50kg at one time.
