Porvair Sciences will introduce new microplate products at the Pittcon 2009 meeting in Chicago, US, from 8-13 March.
This will include the release of the 24-well Minivap sample concentrator and the Biovyon range of sample preparation and separation microplates.
Porvair's 24-well Minivap sample concentrator is suitable for laboratories looking to remove the traditional drug discovery 'bottleneck' of solvent evaporation in microplates prior to analysis or reconstitution in buffer.
The 24-well Minivap takes just minutes to dry down a plate.
The Minivap will fit into any standard fume cupboard and is ideal for laboratories tasked with smaller numbers of individual 24-well plates.
Porvair's ultra-clean Biovyon 'solid state' media and Activyon technologies eliminate the channelling effects found with traditional protein and SPE separation products.
This enables higher purity separations and shorter processing times, as flow rates can be increased.
Porvair will also display existing products and services at Pittcon.
For example, the Universal Robotic Manifold enables productive automation of SPE or DNA clean-up procedures.
It can be easily assembled and disassembled by robotic manipulators.
It can accommodate collection plates from 14 - 44mm in height and is adaptable to work with three different lengths of drip director.
The Universal Robotic Manifold can operate with all brands of filter plate and waste collection reservoir trays.
The Miniseal is an entry-level semi-automated thermal sealer developed for laboratories sealing small to medium batches of microplates.
The device can produce an accurate and tight seal on any SBS-proposed standard, deep well or PCR microplate from three to 62mm in height.
The Triseal High Throughput Sealing Station runs with an automated stacker/loader.
This combination offers unattended sealing of up to 100 microplates a batch.
