UV Light Technology has announced that it has been chosen as a winner in the NHS Smart Solutions Programme for its ultraviolet (UV)-light inspection lamps.
Smart Solutions for HCAI (healthcare-associated infections) was aimed at finding the best products and technologies from across all industry sectors to be used to fight HCAIs, especially Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and Clostridium difficile (C.difficile).
UV Light Technology manufactures UV-light inspection lamps that reveal contamination that is invisible under normal lighting, exposing any areas that have been missed on apparently clean surfaces.
Used for checking effectiveness of cleaning procedures, audits and training, they will identify problem areas not cleaned properly and train new and existing staff to clean to the required standards.
The UV lamps will take part in showcase hospital evaluations to gather evidence of their ability to fight HCAIs, with a view to supplying them across the NHS.
