IDC Technologies will host the Safety Control and Instrumentation Systems Conference on 19-21 May 2009.
The conference will examine and discuss the latest local and international practices and standards in process and machine safety.
It will focus on the technology and application of safety-related control and instrumentation systems in the chemicals, energy, mining and manufacturing industries.
It will also examine the complex issues of using control systems technology to maintain and improve the safety of people and plant while ensuring profitability.
Two keynote speakers will be present at the event.
Edward Marszal, president of Kenexis, is an ISA fellow and former director of the ISA Safety Division.
Marszal is an active senior member in the ISA at the local and national levels and is also a senior member of AIChE and a member of NFPA.
He is a registered professional engineer in Ohio and Illinois and also a TUV-certified functional safety expert.
Ron Bell is a member of the IEC Advisory Committee on Safety (ACOS), past chair of the IET Functional Safety Professional Network, and chair of the IET Residential Course on Safety Critical Systems.
Bell currently chairs one of the two teams responsible for the revision of IEC 61508.
Both Marszal and Bell will be presenting a half-day pre-conference workshop on 19 May 2009.
