London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) has rewarded two young scientists with the opportunity to attend its annual international event held in London.
In celebration of the British Science Association's Big Bang Fair, LIYSF judges named sixth formers Helen Peregine, representing The Abbey School Reading, and Olena Mykhayk from Notre Dame High School, as their Crest Gold Award winners.
The pair fought off competition with their projects on retinal blood vessel analysis and fuel saving technologies respectively.
LIYSF will offer the winners the opportunity to discuss a range of topics alongside other like-minded international students.
They will be engaged in a two-week programme of lecture demonstrations and scientific visits.
Running from 29 July to 12 August 2009, LIYSF will take place at Imperial College London.
