These instruments can study surface and interfacial properties of a massive range of solid and liquid materials.
They are based on the disciplines of optical and tensiometric evaluation: the provision of analysis on contact angle (static or dynamic), the shape of a pendant drop (liquid/liquid or liquid/air) and the response of the tensiometer's balance (to the formation of 'new' surfaces).
Typical applications include: the evaluation of printed and coated media; screening of manufactured surfaces for cleanliness, homogeneity and/or appropriate surface properties or liquids for purity and/or consistency of reactivity; the wetting properties of 'sprayed' products such as agro-chemicals, inks and paints; interfacial properties of petrochemical/aqueous mixtures; and the wet ability of powders (pharmaceuticals, building materials, ceramics).
