Biotek Instruments has introduced the Epoch multi-volume spectrophotometer system.
This offers versatile monochromator-based absorbance measurements in volumes as low as 2uL.
As part of the launch, the company is giving away a free system, consisting of the Epoch microplate spectrophotometer and the Take3 multi-volume plate, controlled via Gen5 software.
These two products combine to provide a solution for laboratories with multiple users, multiple assays and the need to preserve precious nucleic acid and protein samples by using very small volumes for quantification.
With a wavelength range of 200nm to 999nm, the Epoch microplate spectrophotometer is claimed to provide excellent performance for a variety of biomolecular assays, wavelength scanning, end point, kinetic and well area scanning in six- to 384-well microplates.
The Take3 plate allows users to measure up to 16 2uL samples, two Biocells or a standard cuvette.
The Take3 interface in Gen5 software makes low-volume nucleic acid quantification fast and easy with its pre-programmed protocols and data output, according to Biotek.
Customers can register for the contest via the company's website from now until 12 November.
The winner will be drawn randomly on 13 November 2009 and announced in Biotek's Tektalk newsletter.
