Charm Sciences has announced that it manufactures its Pocketswab Plus ATP swabs using recyclable components.
The Pocketswab Plus ATP swabs are commonly used for food safety and infection control programmes.
By allowing customers to conveniently recycle swab components within their waste management programmes, Charm said it can help companies meet their sustainability goals.
Specific recycling codes for each component are featured on new packaging.
Charm's environmentally-friendly swabs leave only residue that is generally recognised as safe (Gras) on food contact surfaces.
Charm swabs do not contain any hazardous chemicals.
An additional 'green' benefit of Charm ATP swabs is that Pocketswab Plus and Fieldswab have a shelf-life of one year at room temperature.
This feature saves energy and shipping costs compared with other swabs that require refrigerated storage and shipping, according to Charm.
