Researchers around the world have selected UVP for bio-imaging and research requirements in applications such as small animal imaging, western blot, 1D/2D gel imaging, colony counting, and more.
One research facility that uses a UVP bio-imaging system is the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (known as Fiocruz), which is attached to the Brazilian Ministry of Health.
The institution is responsible for activities including: research development; highly-regarded hospital and ambulatory care services; production of vaccines; drugs, reagents and diagnostic kits; education and training of human resources; information and communication in the area of health, science and technology; quality control of products and services; and the implementation of social programmes.
Recently, a Fiocruz regional branch, Centro de Pesquisas Gonalo Muniz (CPQGM), situated in Salvador, Brazil, acquired a UVP Ibox Scientia system for its in-vivo imaging experiments.
CPQGM also intends to use the system for fluorescent and chemiluminescent gel and blot imaging.
UVP offers its Ibox in partnership with Anticancer, a pioneer in fluorescent protein imaging in live animals and in the development of mouse models for cancer research.
Anticancer is headquartered in San Diego, California, and also maintains offices in Japan, China and Korea.
UVP and Anticancer provide a free one-day hands-on training on the Ibox using Anticancer mouse models.
