Lab901 has shipped its first Screentape P200 systems for automated protein analysis.
GSK will use the Screentape system in its core monoclonal antibody-production facility for antibody production QC and at-line monitoring of antibody expression.
UCL Cancer Institute is using Screentape in its pre-GMP therapeutic protein-production pathway for expression and purification monitoring of recombinant antibody and fusion protein molecules.
Generating results in one minute per sample, the P200 protein system extends the use of Lab901's existing bench-top Tapestation instrument, which has already made a global impact in the DNA market for PCR diagnostics.
Dr Geoff Boxer, from UCL, said: 'The protein Screentape system dramatically improves productivity, allowing us to complete our protein production and purification workflows much faster than with traditional SDS-Page methods.
'We are also evaluating the platform for non-isotopic drug-distribution studies,' he added.
The Screentape automated SDS-Page platform comprises the Tapestation instrument and the new Screentape P200 consumable.
Protein Screentape complements Lab901's Screentape consumables for multiplex PCR and RNA QC analysis, which also run on the company's Tapestation instrument.
