Thermo Fisher has introduced the Microm HM550 Cryostat with cold-disinfection, which instantly disinfects the entire cold cryo-chamber in three minutes, reducing the risk to laboratory staff.
Cold disinfection is certified to work against aerobic bacteria and fungi.
Thermo Fisher claims the disinfection process is 100 times faster than existing methods and the Microm HM550 Cryostat can be used immediately after the disinfection cycle is complete, resulting in higher throughput.
The new cold-disinfection feature utilises Sanosil, a powerful disinfectant and virucide that is effective against more than 144 pathogens.
This gives users complete confidence in the cleanliness and safety of the cryostat.
The Sanosil disinfectant is also non-toxic and non-carcinogenic when used as directed, making it safe for lab technicians.
