Ulis has announced the introduction of a compact, 640 x 480, 17-micron infrared detector, designed to upgrade the image quality of infrared cameras used in surveillance and thermography.
The detector, which has a footprint of 24 x 24mm, is said to enable camera makers to gain increased resolution (640 x 480) without requiring an increase in system size.
The company said camera makers will also benefit from the detector's low power consumption of less than 0.160W, and light weight - less than 10g.
The product is undergoing client evaluation, with volume production expected to begin in quarter two 2010.
