Softgenetics has announced the release of the latest version of its Mutation Surveyor software for variant analysis of Sanger sequencing data.
Mutation Surveyor is claimed to be the only software of its kind to be validated by two independent groups for use in clinical applications.
Featured in the latest version is a QC report that provides a colour-coded confidence scoring of all found variant calls, which groups replicated positions into a report cell - mutation calls are shown where a variant has been identified, the front colour indicates call confidence, highlighting discrepancies in yellow.
Another feature, developed in collaboration with several clinical groups, enables users to customise the viewing of patients or samples.
Through this tool, sequence analysis can be regrouped by a patient, for example, and show overlapping contigs while simultaneously viewing a hyperlinked mutation report.
Other additions to Mutation Surveyor simplify standard selection for DNA quantification applications, easier editing of variant calls, and duplication identification in the case of detected Indels.
The company offers 30-day trials and no-cost web-based training on its genetic analysis software packages.
