Produlab Pharma is saving money by using custom-calibrated flasks from Jaytec Glass in its veterinary pharmaceutical laboratory in the Netherlands.
'We save more than two hours per day by reducing a three-step process to just one with the new flasks.
'The company has saved the equivalent of a part-time job and the payback on the custom flasks was achieved within one month.
'We have also saved on glassware purchases and reduced cleaning time, costs and contamination risks,' said Pascal Rompa, laboratory manager.
Another lab in the UK is saving 170 hours a year with bespoke calibrated beakers and spending less on glassware by using one custom product rather than two standard ones.
This solution was identified during a free lab glassware savings review offered by Jaytec Glass, a specialist manufacturer of calibrated scientific glassware.
Jaytec Glass manufactured flasks for Produlab Pharma in a range from 2ml to 1l.
Jaytec also provided specification alternatives to achieve Produlab's standards of accuracy, a choice of graduation colour and certificates of accuracy traceable to national standards.
