Thermo Fisher Scientific has brought out two training videos for Macherey Nagel Nucleobond Xtra Midi and Nucleobond Finalizer bioanalysis products for the purification of plasmid DNA.
The videos demonstrate how the products are simple and easy to use while offering significant time savings, improved performance and higher yields compared with leading alternative products.
Nucleobond Xtra anion exchange columns are used to obtain transfection-grade plasmid DNA from bacterial cell cultures.
In the training video for Nucleobond Xtra Midi, the performance of the column is compared with a leading alternative.
The Macherey-Nagel protocol is completed 10 minutes earlier than the alternative method, with higher yields of plasmid DNA (577ug compared with 370ug).
Nucleobond Finalizer is used in the rapid concentration and desalination of plasmid DNA following anion-exchange purification.
The training video for this product demonstrates how the Macherey Nagel product saves almost four minutes in the precipitation and concentration of plasmid DNA eluates compared with a leading alternative.
The video also shows that using Nucleobond Finalizer produces a higher yield, a lower eluate volume and almost double the plasmid DNA concentration.
