CEM has unveiled its Discover microwave synthesis SP-D technology, which is said to change the way sample preparation is performed.
The technology allows the user to individually program each vessel.
It provides a programmable venting capability and flexible automation (up to 96 samples overnight if required).
According to David Lofty, managing director of CEM in the UK, Discover SP-D is suitable for chemists, particularly those testing food, environmental samples, consumer products and biological samples.
Discover SP-D microwave synthesis system is claimed to be fast and simple to use; it is available with automated sample decks in various sizes up to 96 positions.
Features include its automation and the ability to run priority samples.
It can process a typical 0.5g sample of organic material in 10 minutes or less, including cool-down, in a sequential format that allows individual method programming for each sample.
The system incorporates automated pressure control and a novel vessel design that features a secure snap-on cap.
Discover SP-D has individual pressure and temperature control and individual programming for each sample.
The system may be set up to run unattended or overnight.
The programmed samples can be interrupted to run a priority sample with the previous programme resuming after the priority sample is run.
The system's Synergy-D software provides documentation for the traceability of samples.
