Everards Brewery has selected Tintometer's portable EBC Colour Pod for use in situ and the PFX-195/4 for use in the laboratory.
According to Christine Gleadow, laboratory manager, the EBC Colour Pod is accurate and simple to use.
The instrument is used to test light lagers during the brewing process.
She added that the PFX-195/4 is ideal for the master unit in the laboratory.
Gleadow said: 'No dilutions are necessary with the PFX, so we save an incredible amount of time.
'It's easier to use than our old unit and gives objective results, unlike a comparator, which always gave way to several internal "discussions" over colour, especially since the lab has no natural light.
'Moreover, because the Lovibond PFX-195 is supplied with only the scale required [the EBC scale], it was far more economical than other options,' she added.
