Porvair Filtration Group has developed a moulding technology for pharmaceutical, medical and cosmetic applications involving in-vitro filtration, wicking, venting and controlled-release mechanisms.
The company offers optimum manufacturing solutions of sintered porous plastic components using a range of cGMP manufacturing techniques.
The new moulding technology now enables Porvair to rapidly produce porous plastic components with part-to-part uniformity up to the multi-million scale.
According to the company, the technology enables rapid prototyping, thereby reducing the project time and the time to market.
The new clean-room-based manufacturing process does not require expensive tooling and is automated to reduce potential contamination and bioburden.
Available in sheet, tube and almost any 3D shape in a range of pore sizes (10-100 microns), Porvair's range of sintered porous plastic materials are claimed to be FDA and WRAS approved, easily cleanable, strong, rigid and self supporting with a long life expectancy and a high resistance to chemicals.
The manufacturing of these specialist materials for OEM customers is underpinned by an ISO 9001-2000 quality assurance programme.
