Integra Biosciences has released a video that describes the operation and applications of its Mediaclave media preparation and Mediajet automated Petri dish filling systems.
The video can be viewed on the dedicated Mediajet website.
It demonstrates the walk-away automation and plate traceability provided by the Mediaclave and Mediajet systems.
The applications capabilities of the Mediajet are demonstrated through high-throughput filling of Petri dishes of various sizes, Petri dishes with two compartments, test tubes and an integrated shaker function that provides a convenient solution for pour plate applications.
The Mediaclave range is said to enable laboratories to rapidly and reliably prepare 1-30 litres of high-quality culture media, reducing labour costs and freeing staff to more productive tasks.
Available in 10- and 30-litre configurations, the Mediaclave is said to be quick to set up and operate due to an intuitive, multilingual interface, which makes it easy for even untrained users.
The Mediaclave is independently certified by TUV Product Services to be compliant to the UK 61010-1 and IEC 61010-1 international safety standards, fulfilling rigorous industry safety rules and regulations.
The reliability and true automation provided by the Mediajet is said to reduce operational downtime and labour costs associated with traditional dish-filling systems.
A media spread function provides the most efficient use of media through ensuring homogeneous distribution and an uneven surface.
Careful regulation of the media level in each Petri dish provides up to 30 per cent savings on media use compared with some traditional systems, according to Integra.
