JPK has announced that registration is open for the ninth annual international symposium on the applications of scanning probe microscopy and optical tweezers in the life-sciences sector.
The symposia will be held on 6-7 October 2010 in Berlin and more than 100 scientists are expected to attend to discuss results and share knowledge on a variety of topics.
The meeting will feature poster sessions where delegates are invited to showcase their work to their peers.
Topics will range from reports on protein folding to the high-speed AFM imaging of fibrils.
Measuring mechanical properties of biomaterials is a feature of talks this year.
These include soft biomolecular films using a combination of AFM and microinterferrometry.
For the optical tweezers interest, presentations will focus on high-speed manipulation and a means of moving the cell nucleus.
