Sebia has unveiled the latest addition to its automated agarose gel electrophoresis portfolio, Assist, an autosampler designed to ensure standardisation of all pre-analytical steps.
Assist works in conjunction with Sebia's Hydrasys 2 instrument and data-acquisition software, Phoresis, to provide full automation and positive sample identification.
Developed to address the needs of clinical diagnostic laboratories, the autosampler eliminates manual pipetting with direct sampling from primary tubes.
Featuring a barcode management system for positive identification of primary sample tubes, the autosampler also provides automatic dispensing of antisera for immunofixation.
Programming the Assist is designed to be simple, allowing either standard or customised sample dilutions to be performed - particularly useful with immunofixation and CSF techniques.
Assist's automated sampling capability streamlines laboratory workflow and maximises biohazard safety.
In addition, the autosampler offers loading and storage capacity of up to four applicators for a processing cycle of 60 electrophoresis or nine immunofixation samples.
