The Asynt Drysyn range of laboratory heating blocks are suitable for heating and cooling round-bottomed flasks, tubes and vials.
These heating blocks can now be used with any hotplate stirrer regardless of shape or size and offer controlled heating for single or multiple reaction vessels with volumes from 1ml to 5,000ml.
Drysyn blocks can be used on any brand of hotplate stirrer without the need for adapter plates.
The company said that excellent reaction visibility and improved safety are achieved by eliminating messy, potentially dangerous oil immersion baths.
Widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, Drysyn blocks are also used in university teaching laboratories as a single, low-cost hotplate stirrer can be used to heat a wide range of different flask sizes.
The current Drysyn range is claimed to have a heat-up performance of at least 25 per cent faster than the equivalent size oil baths and can heat reaction flasks up to 300C.
The Drysyn Cool is used with a standard laboratory chiller and was shown in independent tests to give better temperature control, faster cooling (to -30C) and better ability to cope with exotherms than a conventional ice bath.
All models are fully compatible with magnetic stirring.
The blocks are manufactured from 100 per cent recyclable anodised aluminium.
