Thermo Fisher Scientific has introduced two new sizes of its MSC-Advantage biological safety cabinets for use in tissue culture, academic, clinical and biotechnology laboratories.
Expanding on the company's existing range of energy-efficient Class II biological safety cabinets, the 0.9 and 1.5m models provide an additional level of choice and flexibility.
The 0.9m model is ideal for personal use in a space-restricted laboratory, while the 1.5m cabinet provides a larger usable workspace in a compact footprint.
With up to 75 per cent lower operating costs than traditional biological safety cabinets, the complete range of Thermo Scientific MSC-Advantage biological safety cabinets are said to be good for the environment.
For space savings, the exterior footprint of the MSC-Advantage biological safety cabinet is minimised, while providing a full interior width of 0.9, 1.2, 1.5 or 1.8m.
All models are independently tested and certified to EN 12469.
The efficient DC motor technology effectively reduces energy consumption, as well as the associated operating costs.
MSC-Advantage Class II biological safety cabinets incorporate the Smartflow airflow compensation system, which maintains a safe environment for the user.
This feature is combined with Digital Airflow Verification (DAVe), which independently monitors product and personnel protection, alerting users when safety is compromised.
Furthermore, an ergonomic design, reduced noise levels and the Smartclean window-cleaning position make this cabinet range comfortable to use and easy to maintain.
