Southern Scientific is offering a new dose calibrator from Capintec that is said to allow customers to measure and prepare doses with high reliability, speed and accuracy.
The Capintec CRC-55tR includes a menu-driven, colour touch-screen interface, which has an ion chamber that uses Capintec's time-tested, high-pressure well designs, and is capable of measuring a dose up to 250GBq with high accuracy.
The display indicates nuclide name, number, activity, unit of measure and calibration number.
The CRC-55tR features USB/PC communications, printer capability, Ethernet software upgrades, plug-and-play chamber and expanded remote capabilities.
Data entry via the custom touch screen with 28 programmable keys is fast and accurate, and the user can select from 80 nuclides by simply selecting the nuclide symbol on the screen.
The calibrator stores reference sources in memory that automatically decay correct for today's time and date, and offers automatic quality control tests and in-built self-diagnostics with automatic zero and background subtraction.
An optional printer enables the user to print full-size records and patient tickets with peel-off labels for vial and syringe identification.
