Aptifirst is offering the T24 system, a communications device that is usable on license-free 2.4GHz frequency and avoids local radio interference to ensure data integrity and security.
With low power consumption and resultant long battery life, it is suitable for use in a variety of measuring applications including torque, weight, vibration and flow.
Each module forms part of a simple system that enables measurements to be collected from a variety of sources, enabling accurate and immediate data collection without the requirement for extensive and labour-intensive cabling operations.
It transmits from a strain-acquisition module on 2.4GHz to a variety of receivers, one of these being a simple two-button handheld T24-HS that captures data and displays it providing a line-of-sight communication range of typically 120m.
The T24-HS also performs the function of waking the T24-SA when it is turned on and sending it into deep-sleep mode when it is turned off.
Equipped with a wide temperature operating range and robust technology, the module is invulnerable to harsh physical or electrical environments.
Options include having an antenna that is either internal or external, and combination with a growing range of optional receiver modules.
The T24-BSu is a base station that connects to a PC USB port and which, using the supplied Telemetry Toolkit software, allows the T24-SA and other modules to be configured.
It is available with USB, RS232 and RS485 interfaces.
Other modules available are the T24-SAf, a higher-speed version of the TS-SA, the T24-AO1 analogue output module (with both voltage and current output options) and the T24-SO serial output module (for RS232 and RS485 outputs).
