Dilyx Biotechnologies has launched the Optisol protein solubility screening kit, designed to allow research scientists in the life sciences to aggregation-proof their protein samples.
The resulting data is said to save effort and money because it informs life-science researchers on how to best treat specific samples for storage or analysis.
Dilyx claimed that since protein aggregation is the main cause of inadvertent protein sample loss, its Optisol protein solubility screening kit meets a substantial need in the protein research market.
The kit combines systematic solution design with array-based filtration technology enabling protein researchers to analyse and optimise protein solubilisation.
The kit's results are auto-analysed by the included Excel-based Protein Dashboard and allow scientists to quickly identify optimal solution conditions for their particular protein.
Dilyx said beta testers have evaluated the research tool and commented on the simplicity of the kit, the utility of the results and ease of scale-up.
The Optisol reagent kit employs Dilyx's filter-aided solubility optimisation screening (FASOS) technology, allowing for the systematic analysis and reduction of protein aggregate formation and therefore minimising protein sample loss.
Dilyx Biotechnologies' Optisol protein solubility screening kits are available for proteins in two size categories.
The included Excel-based Protein Dashboard helps to analyse and identify optimal pH, salt, buffer type, additives and antioxidants that maintain protein samples solubilised while exposed to sample stress such as heat, freeze-thaw cycles, extended storage and others.
