Pro-Lite has teamed up with Carbonvision to bring its carbon-fibre-reinforced-plastic (CFRP) breadboards to the photonics market.
Four grades of carbon-fibre breadboard are offered, from the affordable EC-series to the SL-series, which is said to provide superior damping characteristics.
Compared with regular steel breadboards, carbon fibre breadboards typically weigh 75 per cent less, exhibit 10 per cent of the thermal expansion, possess damping coefficients that are up to 60 per cent higher and provide a superior weight-to-stiffness ratio - the company claims.
Pro-Lite will offer standard Carbonvision breadboards in sizes from 300 x 300mm up to 1,200 x 2,500mm, with custom sizes built upon request.
