Southern Scientific supplies a range of scintillation probes for Radhound, the company's general-purpose digital radiation monitor.
The SS400 Al is an end-widow scintillation probe with a low-energy aluminium window on a 25 x 2mm sodium-iodide crystal designed to provide low-cost gamma monitoring.
The SS500 is also an end-window probe, has a 25.4 x 25.4mm sodium-iodide crystal and is designed to provide low-cost gamma monitoring for energies above 50keV.
The SS404 Al incorporates a 32.5 x 2.5mm-thick sodium-iodide crystal mounted on an aluminium window and is fitted with an internal 3.15mm lead collimator to reduce background counts, while the SS404B has a beryllium window that extends the low-energy response down to 5keV, making it suitable for counting Iron-55.
Southern Scientific also offers Geiger, sodium and plastic scintillation probes for use with Radhound, which provides consistent and stable measurement of alpha, beta and gamma contamination.
