The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) are to hold educational teleconferences for clinical, public health and veterinary labs.
Teleconference speakers will be subject-matter experts from CLSI who are involved in creating CLSI standards and guidelines.
Based on current CLSI documents, the programmes are intended to help pathologists, managers, supervisors and laboratory professionals learn how to optimise practices and processes in their laboratories.
Laboratory professionals can obtain critical updates and information based on recognised standards and guidelines through these educational teleconferences, which feature topics of importance to clinical and public health laboratories.
'Teleconferences help to extend a laboratory's finances, as an unrestricted number of staff can attend and earn continuing education credits,' said Marcy Anderson, director of development and education at CLSI.
The teleconferences will run from February to June 2011 and participants can register through APHL's website.
Discounts are offered for conference series registration.
Continuing education credits are provided.
