CLC Bio has released several desktop software packages for analysing biological sequence data, including CLC Main Workbench 6.0 and CLC DNA Workbench 6.0.
The company said the update offers improvements to the two bioinformatics tools, which are used in in-silico cloning and BLAST.
Other additions to the CLC Main Workbench 6.0 and CLC DNA Workbench 6.0 include an interactive motif search engine functionality, improved viewing and navigation of annotation data, and options for recording auditing data and for custom configuration of restriction enzyme databases and codon frequency tables.
The CLC Main Workbench and CLC DNA Workbench are platform independent, running on Mac OSX, Windows and Linux - including 64-bit versions.
All desktop applications from CLC Bio can be enhanced with plug-ins, which can be developed using the company's free software developer kit.
