Metrohm has introduced the 910 PSTAT mini, a small, compact and PC-controlled potentiostat suitable for training and simple applications in R+D, such as practical courses in universities.
Designed to be simple and intuitive to use, the PSTAT software implements the main electrochemical measuring techniques: cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential-pulse voltammetry (DP), square-wave voltammetry (SWV) and chronoamperometric detection (AD).
The plug-and-play 910 PSTAT uses cost-effective disposable sensors that can be used without any conditioning required.
Each sensor contains the three electrodes needed: the carbon, gold or platinum working electrode; a silver reference electrode; and a carbon auxiliary electrode on a ceramic substrate.
While the 910 PSTAT is suitable for demonstration experiments and practical courses in universities, users in electrochemical R+D are expected to find it a cost-efficient tool for sensor development and the study of reaction kinetics, as well as the reversibility of electrochemical reactions.
