Newport has launched an attenuator design implemented for the low-power photodetectors, Series 818.
Based on the same optic and clear aperture of the 918D series detectors, the new attenuator design features a clear aperture with the size reduced to 10mm to help the user align the detector to the input optical beam more accurately.
The new window also helps avoid detector overfilling while the clearly visible cross hair on the new housing assists coarse alignment of the beam.
The low-power photodetector and the detector housing design remain the same.
The low-power (calibrated levels from pW to 2W) 818 series detectors operate from 200 to 1,800nm and feature matching patented, removable OD3 attenuators for each photodetector.
The detector and the attenuator serial numbers are carefully matched to ensure NIST traceability.
For added user convenience, all detectors are available with a full-spectrum calibration report detailing detector responsivity in 10nm increments, measured with and without the attenuator.
The low-power 818 series photodetectors are made with high-quality semiconductor materials, including silicon, UV-enhanced silicon, germanium and indium gallium arsenide.
