Roche Diagnostics has introduced the Lightcycler Nano instrument to its real-time PCR portfolio of Lightcycler instruments.
The 32-well instrument is targeted at users expecting high performance in times of tight budgets.
The system's approach, regarding both optics and thermal control, is said to result in very low variation of well-to-well performance.
The instrument and its software can be used with all computer operating systems, including Apple, Windows-PC and Linux.
Instead of miniaturised disposables, PCR strips are used to further optimise the convenient handling of the instrument.
These PCR strips are offered bundled together with high-quality PCR reagents.
Roche expects to start shipping Lightcycler Nano Instrument packages in early July 2011.
