Perkinelmer has launched its Supra-Clean and Supra-Poly solid-phase extraction (SPE) product lines for fast and accurate sample preparation for environmental, food and pharmaceutical analysis.
The Supra-Clean and Supra-Poly SPE product lines are designed to offer customers specialising in quality control and product safety and integrity a sample preparation solution that decreases their preparation time, while maintaining a high level of reproducibility.
Jonathan Dilley, vice-president of aftermarket solutions for analytical sciences and laboratory services at Perkinelmer, said: 'Our customers have identified time and reproducibility as being their two primary challenges in preparing samples for the identification and quantification of environmental contaminants, as well as the extraction of pesticides, drug residuals and mycotoxins from food samples.
'Our first-generation SPE products are precisely manufactured to yield uniform performance in a fraction of the time compared with other leading sample preparation techniques,' he added.
Supra-Clean silica-based SPE and Supra-Poly polymer-based SPE both utilise precise bed technology and spherical media, which allows columns to be evenly and consistently filled with particles sized for optimum distribution.
This homogeneous filling and spherical media yield a +/-1 per cent variation in bed volume precision.
This level of quality control allows customers to experience consistent sample preparation performance column to column, batch to batch and lot to lot.
The full range of SPE solutions, which includes both small and large column sizes suitable for samples that are volume dependent, are currently on show at the 36th International Symposium on High-Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques (HPLC 2011), which runs until 23 June in Budapest, Hungary.
