Thermo Fisher Scientific showcased the new Thermo Scientific Revco UxF series of ultra-low-temperature (ULT) freezers at the recent American Association of Clinical Chemistry (AACC) meeting.
Said to provide good sample protection, while maintaining high standards in energy efficiency and capacity per footprint, the new freezers are equipped with a touchscreen control panel that features an event log, a health monitoring system and controlled access options.
The Revco UxF series provides a constant update on the integrity and health of the freezer compartment.
Five new capacities range in size from 421 litres to 949 litres (14.9ft3 to 33.5ft3) and provide a number of options to suit a variety of storage and laboratory space requirements.
The freezers' new cabinet design and vacuum panel insulation allow storage of up to 70,000 2ml tubes or 118,300 1ml Thermo Scientific Cryobank tubes.
With increased environmental consciousness within laboratories, energy efficiency is becoming a primary consideration in the decision to purchase freezer equipment.
The Thermo Scientific Revco UxF series provides a choice of high-performance or energy-saving modes through the touchscreen display.
